STROKER ACE on reply #6 is only one of 100's for example There has been many members on every diesel forum that states they have had issues with the K&N's either right off or even up to one-two years later. I've said this many times, I use K&N's on all my NON turbo powered vehicles. It turned out that on 2 of our trucks the K&N's fell apart and the filter media sucked thru the turbo. What else would K&N say, other than its a myth.įACT: My company installed K&N's on our Turbo Diesel service trucks, with hopes of saving $$$. 500 bucks HS!(The dealer covered it under good will,Banks Chevy Concord,NH-thanks!)Anyways has anyone else had this issue and what am I supposed to do about a cold air flow intake now?I was going to start doing some intake/exhaust/programmer now that my warranty is up but GM and KN said some trucks(mine)will not respond well to intakes and my MAF will fail again and codes will continue to pop up? There must be a solution someone out there has found, thanks!
I'm not bad mouthing K+N at all because they actually said they would refund my filter and if the dealer was going to bill me they would reimburse me in full. I replaced it with a stock paper filter and it actually does run much better than it ever has. The dealer noticed my K+N and said it caused my MAF to fail and could be the cause of all of my issues. The truck just came back from the dealer this last time around for engine light on and limp mode going in and out.
I've had a lot of engine codes and DPF problems. I've had a K+N filter in my 2010 truck since it was new and the truck has been the doggiest duramax I've ever owned owned.
